I ask the Senator to speak to amendment No. 24, despite the subtlety of the point.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 440 of 443 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I ask the Senator to speak to amendment No. 24, despite the subtlety of the point.
I join with colleagues who spoke on the Order of Business earlier in wishing my colleague, the Cathaoirleach, a happy first anniversary. I congratulate him on his stewardship during this difficult year. It has been an unusual and tumultuous experience. Well done to the Cathaoirleach. I welcome the Minister of State. The room is very large so I ask that Senators indicate clearly if they wish to speak on any section. If I appear to be moving on, it is not that I am trying to thwart debate. Senators are welcome to int…

I thank Senator Conway for that excellent impromptu intervention. Do any other Senators indicate their wish to contribute? I call Senator Gallagher.
Gabhaim buíochas leis an Aire Stáit as na focail sin. The House stands adjourned until 9.30 a.m. on Friday, 2 July 2021 in the Convention Centre Dublin in accordance with the order of the Seanad today. Gabhaim buíochas libh uilig arís.

Would the Minister of State or any other colleagues like to say a final few words?
I thank my Seanad colleagues for their co-operation and the Minister of State for his input.
I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Naughton, and the proposer of the Bill, Senator Ruane.
When is it proposed to take Fifth Stage?
Is that agreed? Agreed.
I warmly congratulate Senator Ruane. The Bill is a great personal achievement. She has every reason to be very proud of it. It is important, reforming legislation. I salute the Senator for taking the initiative. She is a great exemplar of what the Seanad can achieve. Well done to her.
I appreciate the Senator's comments. There is a great positivity and a sense of achievement for Senator Ruane. There is mutual happiness among us all. I am cognisant of the fact that we finish at 7.15 p.m. at the latest and that we want the Minister to have an opportunity to speak. Before I hand over to Senator O’Loughlin, it is my great pleasure to call my constituency colleague, Senator Gallagher, who comes with a professional background to this discussion. It will be enlightening because he has knowledge in this…
It is very apt that I am speaking on this matter this morning. Earlier this morning I was proud to be online when a group of young Irish people, members of Foróige under the leadership of Sandra McIntyre, Mr. McKiernan and others, spoke to the Council of Europe on climate change and on their perception of what should be done with the just transition, etc. I was proud to facilitate that and proud of the brilliance of their performance. I recommend that the Minister listen to them online. It is easily accessed. As an…
