I thank the Minister and return the same felicitous remarks to her on behalf of Senators.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 440 of 443 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I move: That the Fifth Report of the Committee of Selection be laid before the Seanad.
I welcome the Minister of State back to his alma mater and he has 15 minutes.
I call Senator Pauline O'Reilly who has five minutes to respond to the debate.
It is my great pleasure to support this motion along with my colleagues today. It is a motion that should be supported. I am happy that the Minister of State has also been supportive of it. I was unaware of the fact that speakers could make contributions after the Minister of State had responded to the motion. Perhaps I should have been aware of this and I have been terribly negligent. It was a slip-up on my part. I had intended to speak on this issue, but I did not anticipate having the opportunity to do so. While…
I thank the Acting Chairman. I appreciate his stepping in.
I congratulate the Senator for moving the motion. When is it proposed to sit again?
Is that agreed? Agreed.
I thank the Minister of State. The times are allocated by order of the House. I think they are a little restrictive.
When is it proposed to take Committee Stage?
Is that agreed? Agreed.
I am delighted to welcome the Minister for Social Protection, Deputy Humphreys. As she is my constituency colleague, it is a great pleasure for me to congratulate her on her appointment to this Ministry and the other one and her reappointment to Cabinet.
Recommendation No. 3, in the name of Senator Mullen, is deemed out of order as a charge on the people.
The Senator has made his point.
Sorry-----
Surely Oireachtas Members are part of the people.
I take the Senator's point.
The Senator has made the point extremely well as always, so what I recommend him to do is speak to the section and make all the points he wants on the section and then discuss with the Seanad Office the technicalities of the ruling.
The Senator may go ahead and speak to the section.
I thank Senator Mullen for understanding both sides of the equation.
