I understand that Deputies Alan Farrell and O'Connor are sharing time.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 748 of 752 decisive votes (3 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

There will now be a 20-minute question-and-answer session, after which the Minister of State will have five minutes to conclude. I ask Deputies intending to ask questions to be as brief as possible and to the point regarding the European Council.
I am happy to give you the latitude to do so.
Deputy Connolly wishes to come in again. However, if she does not mind, three other Deputies have also indicated.
I think these aspects may reoccur in the contributions from some of the other Deputies. I call Deputy Brady.
I think we have the Deputy's questions. I call the Minister of State.
The Minister of State now has five minutes to wrap up the debate.
The Select Committee on Health has completed its consideration of the Nursing Homes Support Scheme (Amendment) Bill 2021 and has made no amendments thereto.
Go raibh maith agat a Theachta. Tá an t-am istigh.
I will redirect the Deputy to discussion of the amendments.
These questions are two sides of the same coin and deal with conservation ranger vacancies in the National Parks and Wildlife Service, NPWS. The first deals with historical vacancies, the ones that have not been filled for quite some time and asks why that is the case. The second deals with future opportunities and asks what posts will be created and how we plan to recruit for them. I am particularly interested in the area of west Waterford which has been lacking a ranger for a long period.
I thank the Minister of State for that response. As he will know, Green Party representatives are often the first port of call if something is happening that people identify within their environment that they have a problem with. The speed of reaction is so important because once the tree is cut down, the nest is lost or the hedge is grubbed out - that is it. It is a damage that cannot be undone. That speed and those boots on the ground that the Minister of State talks about are vitally important. I would have come…
That is welcome and the wildlife crime unit in particular is a very welcome move from this Government which shows that we are beginning to take this biodiversity crisis seriously. I know there was a historical issue that made it difficult to fill vacancies and that is why that issue in west Waterford existed according to my information. In recruiting these rangers, the other thing I would like to impress on the Minister of State is that we have to make these sustainable and good jobs. We are talking about highly qu…
As I do not see Deputy Duncan Smith here to take Question No. 58, I will take Question No. 59, in the name of Deputy Ó Snodaigh, and return to Deputy Smith when he arrives.
We are out of time.
Unusually, both questions in the group are from Deputy Connolly.
I thank the Minister of State.
I thank the Minister of State.
I would like to get the maximum number of people on the pitch myself, so I ask Members to stick to the allotted times.
I believe Deputy Matthews is taking Question No. 64.
