Recommendations Nos. 7 and 8 are related and may be discussed together by agreement. Is that agreed? Agreed.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 66 of 66 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

The Minister might appoint Senator Mullen as the ambassador.
Senator Gavan should be allowed to speak without interruption.
I thank Senator Clonan and all other Senators for their contributions. Before I call on the Minister of State to respond, I want to welcome to the Visitor's Gallery our distinguished colleague and friend from Kosovo, Ambassador Kipiti. He obviously has an ongoing interest in Europe. We hope that Kosovo will be joining Ukraine as a member of the European Union family. I thank the ambassador for taking the time to visit us today for this very important debate.
I join the Cathaoirleach in welcoming our public representative colleagues from Washington County, Wisconsin. Speaker Robin Vos is one of the national co-chairs of the American Irish State Legislators Caucus. He is a speaker of the House in Wisconsin. Next time you see him, you might remind him his grandmother got a letter from former US President John F. Kennedy on 17 March 1963 on her 100th birthday. Speaker Vos is most welcome today. I am aware that he participated in a tree-planting ceremony in Galway to mark t…
I thank an uachtarán for his address. I also thank him for his work and call to action. I welcome his family and the entire GAA family here today, and thank them for all of their work. Like Mr. McCarthy, another Uachtarán from America addressed us last week in the other Chamber and I note that an uachtarán present did not finish his speech with the phrase, "Mayo for Sam".
That is a promise you can take to the bank. Another uachtarán is working with the GAA and that is former Uachtarán na hÉireann, Mary McAleese, who has often said that those who drink the water should never forget those who dug the well. Today, uachtarán McCarthy remembered those who dug the well 140 years ago and I refer to the first president of the GAA, Maurice Davin. I also refer to former president, Dr. Mick Loftus, who sadly passed away during the week. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this diff…
I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters: Senator John Cummins - The need for the Minister for Justice to introduce a grant scheme to support the work of community text alert groups nationally. Senator Eugene Murphy - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on school transport provision in north-east Roscommon, particularly in the Rooskey and Tarmonbarry areas. Senator Vincent P. Martin - The need for the Minister for Health to make a st…
My contribution relates to the appearance by Mr. Watt at the Oireachtas committee and the former Attorney General, Senator McDowell, might have a view on this. If Mr. Watt's computer was hacked, as he alleged, then there could be a data protection issue. Did Mr. Watt report this to the Data Protection Commissioner, DPC? He would have a lot of data on his computer and would be obliged to inform the DPC that his emails were hacked. His computer would have a lot of information on it, including a lot of confidential do…
Is Senator O'Loughlin seconding the Bill?
I thank Senators O’Loughlin and Ardagh for bringing forward this legislation, particularly Senator Ardagh for her work on this and for sharing her journey with us. It is the journey of so many but many suffer in silence or do not speak out. I think we can all agree that if this issue affected men, the money would have been allocated decades ago. Because there are many more women Members of the Seanad now, these issues are raised here more and more, and rightly so. Without the presence of the Senators mentioned and …
I thank the Minister and the Members. The question is, “That the Bill be now read a Second Time.” Is that agreed?
I propose that we take Committee Stage next Tuesday and then we will let the House-----
We do not have to order it for next Tuesday, but to have timed the amendment, we would have had to wait until it was on the Order Paper. We can reschedule. I propose that we read the Bill a Second Time and then we will schedule Committee Stage for when the Minister comes back with proposals.
I propose a suspension of the House for five minutes and we will come back to it.
When is it proposed to take Committee Stage?
Is that agreed? Agreed.
