We look forward to that.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 66 of 66 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

The Rt. Hon. Lord John McFall will address the House in accordance with the order of Seanad Éireann on 28 September. I ask him to come to the floor of the Seanad. It is my pleasure to welcome Lord McFall to Ireland, to Leinster House and to the Chamber of Seanad Éireann. We look forward to his address. His great-grandfather left County Tyrone for Scotland many years ago. Countless Irish people left that county to go to the United States, including the ancestor of Woodrow Wilson. If Lord McFall's great-grandfather h…
I thank Lord McFall for being here. His knowledge and interest in Ireland is clear. His work in the Northern Ireland Office and his close support of those who played such a pivotal role in the peace process was vital at that time. One of those he worked very closely with was the late Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Mo Mowlam, who I am sure was a great friend of his. In 1998, he was the first minister from the United Kingdom to be on the scene of the Omagh bombing on that sad day just hours after it happene…
Go raibh maith agat, Lord Speaker. Thank you for your thoughtful comments and your contribution to the record of Seanad Éireann in its 100th anniversary. I call the Leader of Seanad Éireann, an Seanadóir Regina Doherty.
I hope that is not against regulations.
The Lord Speaker will now respond. I thank him for his thoughtful address, in particular in remembering those who worked on the Good Friday Agreement who are no longer with us. The phrase often used by President McAleese at the time was: "Those who drink the water should remember those who dug the well". The Lord Speaker is one of those who dug that well, so I thank him for being here and sharing his thoughts on his role and also the work that we can continue to do together to improve relations. I invite the Lord S…
To conclude, we have someone who, like Lord McFall's great-grandfather, has a link to County Tyrone. I call Senator Currie.
Before I call the next speaker, I welcome to the Gallery Senator Pauline O'Reilly, her mother, Carmel, and her aunts Pauline and Harriet. They are most welcome to Seanad Éireann. We have had a number of distinguished visitors today. We had Senator Flynn's daughter and Senator O'Loughlin's mother. They are most welcome to Seanad Éireann.
When is it proposed to take Committee Stage?
Is that agreed? Agreed.
Is the Senator sharing time?
Before I call on Senator Sherlock, I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Feighan, and his guests to the Gallery. I thank them for attending Seanad Éireann today.
When is it proposed to sit again.
I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:Senator Róisín Garvey - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the registration of Airbnbs. Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to provide an update on the review of Ireland's furniture fire regulations. Senator Sharon Keogan - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the progress be…
I thank Senator Wall for raising that important issue. Of course, we sympathise with him on his loss. Even though it was eight years ago, it still hurts.
I thank the Senator for bringing up that important topic in the Seanad.
I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters on the Commencement of the Seanad: Senator Tom Clonan: The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to outline his plans for the commencement of section 212 of the Local Government Act 2001. Senator Mary Seery Kearney: The need for the Minister for Children, Disability, Equality, Integration and Youth to provide an update on the introduction of legislation to ban conversion therapies. Senator …
I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Noonan, to the House.
Before I ask the Leader of the House to outline the Order of Business, I welcome to the Distinguished Visitors Gallery the ambassador from Germany. He is most welcome here, in advance of Germany's national day. That day takes place in unprecedented times in Europe with the war in Ukraine and the European Union's response. We are also very grateful for Germany's support in the Brexit negotiations. The European Union and its partners are focusing our best efforts on the support of democracy and the rule of law, freed…
Before I call the next speaker, I welcome to the Visitors Gallery the pupils and staff of St. Paul's Secondary School in the Oughterard area of Connemara, County Galway. They just missed hearing from their local representative, Senator Kyne, although all Senators are national. I welcome Chris Hurney and all the staff and students. I hope they have a great day and enjoy the day off school, which is the most important part, along with learning about democracy.
