On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 60 of 748 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Disability Services

Unfortunately, the reply does not differentiate between an administrative hub and an assessment hub. I ask the Minister of State to raise with the Minister of State, Deputy Rabbitte, the need to differentiate between the two. It seems an administrative hub gathers information, while an assessment hub carries out assessments. We do not have an assessment hub in CHO 7. The figure of 1,935 provided is 20 or so short of the figure provided in answer to a parliamentary question tabled a couple of weeks ago, notwithstand…

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

I join my colleague from County Kildare in raising a number of issues, particularly with regard to the water outages in west Kildare. It has gone beyond a joke and I encourage everybody to get involved, particularly when we are speaking about schools now having to close their doors. I ask the Minister to come to the House or for the Leader to write to Uisce Éireann on behalf of the House. I know Uisce Éireann sent a reply in the past half an hour to state it is working on it but we have had a number of these works …

Electoral (Amendment) (Voting at 16) Bill 2021: Second Stage

I too welcome all our visitors in the Public Gallery. I welcome my fellow Kildare man and wish him the best of luck in the forthcoming local elections. I also thank Fianna Fáil Senators for introducing the important debate tonight on the Electoral (Amendment) (Voting at 16) Bill 2021. It is a Bill to reduce to 16 years the age at which a person is entitled to be registered as a European Parliament and local government elector. The debate this evening is timely for me because, on my way into Leinster House today, I …

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

I support Senator Boyhan's comments on the presentation in the audiovisual room yesterday. It was a very important presentation, and the Senator has made a very important intervention today. I seek a debate with the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage. I know we will have one next week, but the issue I wish to raise today is the housing adaptation, housing aid and disability grants through the local authorities. It is an issue I have raised numerous times in this House. I have had a number of Commen…

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

I support Senator Boylan's comments on what is happening in Gaza at the moment. It is horrific what is coming out, and we can all call for an immediate ceasefire, given what we are seeing on our screens day in, day out and what we are hearing. I want to put on record my support for that call. Yesterday, I had the chance to visit the Athy and Castledermot youth diversion project in its new premises in Athy. I want to outline the great work that Jamie, Lindsey and Eimear are doing there. They are helping young people…

Non-Fatal Offences against the Person (Amendment) (Spiking) Bill 2023: Committee Stage (Resumed) and Remaining Stages

I congratulate our three distinguished visitors in the Gallery for their work on this Bill, because it is so important. I thank Senator Doherty and all those who have worked on it. As Senator Doherty has said, it is an issue for those of us who have children when they go out and socialise at night. We welcome the work that has been done by everyone on this important Bill. Does the Minister wish to comment?
