I thank the Minister of State. I have no doubt that he will articulate Senator Dooley's proposal to the Minister. It is to be hoped we will see a successful outcome in terms of the application for County Clare.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 594 of 598 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

I thank the Minister of State. I have no doubt that he will articulate Senator Dooley's proposal to the Minister. It is to be hoped we will see a successful outcome in terms of the application for County Clare.
I thank Senator Currie for raising what is an important Commencement matter this morning. I thank the Minister of State for taking all four Commencement matters. We know he is busy and we appreciate his time in the Seanad.
I welcome and support the Bill. It is an incremental step in delivering the programme for Government. I thank the Minister for the work he has done over the past four years. He is a nice man, a gentleman and is totally approachable.
I hope his record as Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine is respected and appreciated. I support the Bill.
Unfortunately, a vote has been called in the Dáil, so we will suspend until after the vote. Is that agreed?
I checked, but it seems that continuing is not possible. The bells have been ringing for a few minutes.
The Minister of State, Deputy O'Donnell, will respond to the second Commencement matter, while the Minister of State, Deputy Dillon, will take the third and fourth Commencement matters. It is a pity the matters he is taking are not running in sequence.
I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy O'Donnell, to the House. I thank him for his time this afternoon.
I thank the Minister of State and Senator Byrne.
I welcome Minister of State, Deputy Dillon, to the House.
Before the Minister of State responds, I welcome Dromtariffe Active Retirement Club to the Public Gallery who are here as guests of Deputy Michael Moynihan. I hope they have a wonderful day in Leinster House and enjoy their visit.
I thank the Minister of State and Senator Currie. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved without delay.
I thank the Senator for raising this extremely important issue.
I thank the Senator. Before I bring in the Minister of State, I welcome to the Public Gallery my assistant and intern Cat Yost, her aunt Lynn Yost, her cousin Thomas Farmer, and transition year student Damien Moyles who is also working in my office.
I concur with the Minister of State and commend our friend and colleague, Senator Lombard, on what I know have been years of campaigning on this issue, and specifically on this particular aspect, which is extremely unfair. Hopefully, the review will be expedited, as the Minister of State has said. Before concluding I thank him for his time this afternoon. We know how busy he is. His time in the Seanad is always appreciated.
I welcome the Minister of State. For some time now inside and outside this House, I have campaigned for better support services for and better screening of haemochromatosis. We have had discussions here in previous Commencement matters on the need for a national plan or strategy to deal with haemochromatosis. I have facilitated briefings within the House for staff and Members from the Irish Haemochromatosis Association. For those people who do not understand what haemochromatosis is, it is when your body takes in t…
I accept that much progress has been made, in no small part due to the people who have campaigned and stuck at it over the years. I also accept that the outpatient charges have been dealt with. We need to move to a situation where no haemochromatosis patient should have to be treated in hospital. Outpatient services are under enough pressure. This should be dealt with through the Irish Blood Transfusion Service, which would be the most acceptable model, unless there are very specific reasons not to do that. The her…
I thank the Senator. As a keen sea swimmer, I fully endorse this Commencement matter.
I thank Senator Ward and I thank the Minister of State for his time this morning and for taking all four Commencement matters. It is appreciated.
It is good to see the Acting Leader in the role today. I would like to further analyse and discuss budget 2025. I am particularly pleased there is a significant commitment to investing in wastewater and in upgrading wastewater systems throughout the country. This is one of the big problems in planning and building houses, particularly in rural parts of the country. We are putting through a planning Bill that will deal significantly with the judicial review delays which, in County Clare alone, have held up 290 house…
