On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 455 decisive votes (4 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Léiríonn an tuairisc a d'fhoilsigh Bonkers.ie inniu go mbeadh aon socair a chuirfear ar fáil sa bhuiséad slogtha suas ag arduithe praghsanna. Tá go leor daoine óga ag smaoineamh ar imeacht thar lear ar thóir saol agus todhchaí níos fearr. Is í an cheist mhór ná cad a dhéanfaidh an Rialtas sa bhuiséad chun an saol a dhéanamh níos inacmhainne? We are now less than two weeks to budget day. The main thing on people's minds is the runaway cost of living, and the big question is what the Government will do to get costs u…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

There are absolutely solutions to all this. There is a constructive way forward. There is absolutely hope, especially for our phenomenal young people and for working families everywhere. Last night, we brought forward just one of those solutions, which could have had an immediate effect for 700,000 households, a solution to remove carbon taxes and make home heating oil in some way affordable for those families that were struggling. We will never apologise for shouting out for working people right across this land a…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Tá brú ollmhór ar dhaoine mar gheall ar na harduithe móra i bpraghsanna ola tí, peitreal agus díosal. Tá Sinn Féin ag moladh réitithe le dul i ngleic leis seo agus praghsanna a laghdú. Caithfidh an Rialtas iad a chur i bhfeidhm láithreach. Workers, families and businesses are under enormous unsustainable pressure from soaring fuel prices. The price of home heating oil, petrol and diesel has skyrocketed. People simply cannot afford the Government paying lip service to this situation. They need the Government to do i…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Jesus, that is woeful spoofing. The Minister does not have to speculate on anything because we have been very clear for months on end that the Government has to give assistance to the 700,000 households that heat their homes with heating oil. The Government has done nothing except give this kind of guff and try to act to distract, but it will not distract people from the realities of their lives. Now, as we meet and as we speak, they are being ripped off for home heating oil and fuel prices are soaring again, just …

We are simply asking that the Government do that now because families, households and businesses are struggling.

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

I want to raise again the urgent situation on the Garvaghy Road in Portadown. As the Minister will be aware, the Parades Commission is about to consider an Orange Order application to march down the Garvaghy Road this Sunday. For 28 years, this community has lived with relative peace. The dispute, which was long-running and carried a high human cost, was resolved. It is just incredible that anybody would seek to reopen that matter and bring the anxiety, stress and instability that all of that would mean. This is a …

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

RTÉ has reported very serious allegations and tonight four Garda whistleblowers will speak publicly on them for the very first time. They will detail how the process for reporting and investigating wrongdoing within the Garda has been repeatedly undermined by senior management, including former Garda Commissioner, Drew Harris. A process was established in the aftermath of scandals that rocked An Garda Síochána more than a decade ago, in particular the treatment of sergeant Maurice McCabe. At that time, we were prom…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Although the programme has not yet aired, certainly the central kernel of the issue has been published by RTÉ. In fact, there is extensive material in the public domain on the core issues - not the detail perhaps but the core issues at play here - so I am surprised that the Taoiseach or somebody around him has not briefed him on that. Be that as it may, the nub of this is simply this. Tonight, the very person, Dr. Donal Corcoran, who was in charge of running the protected disclosures office will tell a story of how…

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

The Orange Order has applied to march down the Garvaghy Road on 27 September. This reopens an issue that caused years of deep confrontation, fear and trauma for the Garvaghy Road community - a community, by the way, that enjoys the right to live free from sectarian harassment. For 28 years, the Garvaghy Road has been free from an unwanted march. This hard-won progress cannot be put at risk. I have written to the Taoiseach on this matter, as has Upper Bann MLA and minister, John O'Dowd, and the Garvaghy Road Residen…
