On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 41 of 930 decisive votes (9 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Regeneration Projects

The Dublin city centre task force recommends improving public transport by implementing the city centre transport plan. How on earth does the Taoiseach think this is compatible with outsourcing more and more routes to private companies like Go-Ahead Ireland, which has been a disaster for commuters? Workers and students in Tallaght, Knocklyon and Rathfarnham have had their lives turned upside down by the number of no-show buses and ghost buses run by Go-Ahead Ireland. The S6, S8 and S4, all of which are run by Go-Ah…

Taoiseach's Meetings and Engagements

As we speak, representatives of two big imperialist powers are sitting down in Saudi Arabia to decide the future of Ukraine - to carve it up without any Ukrainian representatives even being present. It is illustrative of the fact that the world we live in is increasingly divided between these big imperialist powers and their rivalries and it underlines the need for Ireland to be a consistent voice against imperialism and oppression and for peace. The Ukrainian people have suffered throughout all of this. They have …

Provision of Special Education: Motion [Private Members]

There is a major crisis in respect of school places coming down the line again. I hear words but I do not see action to avert that crisis. In 24 hours last week, I was contacted by four different families all in a panic. I was told by Elliot's parents in Celbridge that they had applied for the six relevant schools in their area with special classes and had received rejections from all six. They are in a panic because Elliot is currently in a special preschool and they can see the benefit of that to him and they wor…

Protection of Tenants' Deposits Bill 2025: First Stage

I move: That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend the Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Act 2015 so that the provisions in that Act for tenant deposits to be sent to the Residential Tenancies Board are commenced within 90 days of the passing of this Act. I am introducing this Bill to protect tenants' deposits today because it is one of the most common and damaging forms of theft - a type of theft that goes, almost always, unpunished. I refer to landlords stealing their tenants' deposits. De…

Road Safety: Statements

I welcome the recent reduction in speed limits on local rural roads. I also welcome the forthcoming reduction in speed limits on urban roads from 50 km/h to 20 km/h. The facts are absolutely undeniable that speed kills and reducing speed even by a small amount saves limbs and lives. Research published by the Department of Transport shows there is "an extremely strong and fundamental relationship between speed and injuries." When speed limits were reduced to 30 km/h in Bristol in 2019, fatal injuries fell by 63%. Mi…

Housing Policy: Motion [Private Members]

There is something profoundly undemocratic about what the Government is planning to do on housing. We have just had an election campaign during which Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael told us Housing for All was working and that the evidence for that was the 40,000 homes that were going to have been built last year. The Government was deliberately misleading people. It knew and had been told that the figure would be only 30,000. During that election campaign, where was the mention of scrapping rent pressure zones, the new …

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Israel began the full-scale ground invasion on 27 October. The Taoiseach visited in the middle of November. He participated in a propaganda visit when the genocide was fully under way. He is now misleading the House.
