Do not justify that with giving Irish citizens the right to have their passport.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 49 of 1,003 decisive votes (16 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Do not justify that with giving Irish citizens the right to have their passport.
That is ridiculous stuff from a Minister.
The Government burnt through €50 million and it blames citizens-----
It is disgraceful for the Minister to blame citizens in the North for the Government's complete and utter incompetence.
There was €50 million of waste and it was a cheap shot.
Is léiriú uafásach na figiúirí a foilsíodh inniu maidir le polasaí tithíochta an Rialtais. Sa chéad trí mhí don bhliain seo, tugadh 7,062 fógra díshealbhaithe do thionóntaí, an figiúr is airde a taifeadadh riamh. Tá sé seo suas níos mó ná 50% ar an tréimhse céanna an bhliain roimhe seo. Ní trí thimpiste atá sé seo ag tarlú. Tá na rátaí díshealbhaithe ag ardú as cuimse ó d’fhógair an Rialtas a chuid athruithe tubaisteacha ar rialachán cíosa an samhradh seo caite. D’oscail sé na geataí tuile agus dúirt muid caidé go …
The Tánaiste can spin this whatever way he wants but it is black and white. The truth is that he is deepening the crisis because of the political choices the Government has made. The Tánaiste can shake his head all he wants. Does he know what is happening out there? His Government, his party, the Fianna Fáil Party and the Independent Members who support them have opened the floodgates. We warned them about what was going to happen. The Government is allowing landlords to drive up rent. We said they would use the le…
What about evictions?
Another day, another story of shocking waste on the watch of Fine Gael and Fine Gael. A public accounts committee investigation has uncovered that the Government has overspent to the tune of €40 million on IT projects in the past two years. This is crazy stuff, again and again. A DNA information system was supposed to cost €760,000; the final cost was €2.7 million. A childcare IT project was supposed to cost €7.1 million; its final cost was over €10 million. A new Garda case management system collapsed with €500,00…
To tell us it is wasted. We are trying to make sure it does not get wasted.
Who said that?
Will the Tánaiste address the issue? Will he address the fact that the Government is wasting millions of euro while asking ordinary people to tighten their belts?
Gabhaim buíochas leis an Teachta as a chuid ama a roinnt liom. Tá dhá nóiméad agam. I raise the urgent access to the drug givinostat for children-----
Yes. I want to raise the urgent issue of access to the drug givinostat for children living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, or DMD, as it is commonly known. Givinostat was approved by the European Medicines Agency last June. Nearly a year has passed, the HSE is still reviewing whether it is going to cover the cost of this drug for children and adults across the State. What makes the delays around givinostat's availability particularly distressing - and I am sure the Minister of State knows this - is that it is onl…
With respect, that does not cut it for these families. These parents are looking at their children in a race against time. The case of Diarmuid is an example. His mother said that Diarmuid's brother, Nathan, has the same condition. Nathan has had access to the drug through a UK trial for more than ten years but Diarmuid is approaching the age where he is likely to lose mobility. She asked me to imagine being a mother opening the fridge every day to give her eldest boy this life-changing medicine and not giving it t…
I am a parent of four young boys. I would go through a wall for them. The Government has to allow compassionate access to these drugs immediately.
Seo scannal bothán rothar eile - €127,000 caite ar bhothán rothar in Ospidéal Chiarraí. Tagann sé seo ag an am céanna ina bhfuil Feidhmeannacht na Seirbhíse Sláinte ag rá go bhfuil sé ag dul siar ar a bhuiséad, go bhfuil smacht caiteachais i bhfeidhm anois, agus go bhfuil moratóir ar earcaíocht ar fud chuid den tseirbhís sláinte. Deirtear le hoibrithe cúram sláinte nach bhfuil go leor airgid ansin. Tá folúntais nach bhfuil líonta. Tá foireann atá traochta. Tá othair atá ag fanacht. Tá páiste atá ag fanacht míonna i…
The public is sick to the teeth of this. The Minister stands there and defends €127,000 being spent on a designer bike shed at the same time as the Government is imposing a recruitment embargo. Does the Minister not know how tone-deaf that is and what the family whose mother is lying on a hospital trolley in a corner of one of those hospitals feel when they hear that, or when the carer who is sitting at home cannot actually care for people because there is a recruitment embargo that does not allow the hours for hom…
Front-line staff are at breaking point. These waiting lists are getting longer yet the Minister defends the indefensible. How does she square that circle?
That is the problem; there is no accountability.
