Who are these Members who have indicated?
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 56 of 1,164 decisive votes (16 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Who are these Members who have indicated?
Okay. We do not agree to it then.
To be clear, there is to be a vote tonight on this matter. It was agreed by the Taoiseach that more time would be provided if Members presented themselves to be here to speak. Right now, Deputy MacSharry is here to speak. I want to know who the other Members who have indicated they want to speak are, because we are supposed to have a vote on this tonight.
That is not agreed.
The proposal is not agreed.
To be clear, what was agreed was that more time would be provided if Members showed up here. Right now, another hour would suffice to deal with the matter. A vote is scheduled for tonight and a vote should take place.
The discussion of the legislation that would follows the conclusion of this motion is not anticipated to last for the time for which it is scheduled. I propose an amendment to the Government proposal that we make one more hour available for those who wish to avail of this. That is my amendment and if that is not agreed, unfortunately we cannot agree to the motion.
On the EU migration and asylum pact, we had asked for as much time as possible and to take whatever time is needed on this. It is a matter of serious concern among the Opposition that, while the Government has granted more time, it will be scheduled to conclude tomorrow. I again ask the Government to consider allowing this to take as much time as possible and to adjourn until Thursday, or next week. We clearly need more time in the Oireachtas to demonstrate we have had the fullest debate and the fullest opportunity…
iCARE, which is based on the Inishowen peninsula in Donegal, has been in existence for 24 years. It provides a vital service to children and young people with disabilities, including intellectual disabilities. Most of iCARE's funding comes from community fundraising. Along with Bluestack Special Needs Foundation in south Donegal, iCARE has campaigned for years for core funding from the State to allow it to continue to run services. It got some funding after a protracted campaign but not enough. Recently, there was …
Such arrogance.
Hubris and arrogance.
When the schedule was presented at the Business Committee, there were serious concerns across the Opposition regarding the time allocated to the Planning and Development Bill. As the Taoiseach knows, there are a massive number of amendments, including amendments from the Minister. This is a very important Bill. I urge him not to guillotine it at midnight on Wednesday but, rather, let it run its course over the next number of weeks to give the necessary time to the Bill. There are serious repercussions. It is one of…
The Taoiseach is the decision-maker on the schedule.
My colleague, Deputy Doherty, and I submitted a number of questions. I am representing us both, with the assistance and co-operation of the House. For three weeks, the finance and housing committees probed the enhanced defective concrete block scheme. It is clear there are gaping holes in the scheme both in its accessibility for applicants and the science that underpins it. What is the Government’s response? What changes will it make?
I do not know whether the Minister of State has had a chance to review the transcript of the committee meetings but if he did, he would been disturbed at what emerged. It is very clear, and the testimony from Engineers Ireland was very concerning, that IS 465, which is the standard that underpins a multibillion-euro redress scheme, the biggest redress scheme in the history of the State, is not fit for purpose. We have a situation where the engineers making recommendations on behalf of homeowners, these engineers ha…
Another major issue is that the scheme is a grant scheme. For the second time, it is a grant scheme and not a redress scheme, which is what was provided for the more than 3,000 families in Dublin and north Leinster who were the victims of pyrite. From the committee meetings and the public meetings in Donegal and Mayo, which were attended by more than 2,000 people in total in Donegal and by 500 or 600 people in Mayo, it is clear that the scheme is not accessible to most families. I am hearing of quotes where the gap…
It is not 100%. The Minister of State should not say that. It is deeply offensive to families.
This question is around Scoil Mhuire National School in Milford, County Donegal. I discussed this matter with the Minister earlier in the year. This school is not fit for purpose in terms of the buildings, but in terms of education, it is the opposite. It offers a tremendous education but in conditions that are unacceptable. It is a landlocked site and is very dangerous at the junction of roads. The building is from the 1950s. It is totally inadequate in every way. The school has secured a new site. I understand th…
As the Minister says, she has visited the school and seen at first hand the conditions in the school. The board of management is adamant that when it engaged with the Department it was assured that if it applied for these additional modular buildings, it would not impact on its application for a new school. It is now really frustrated that when asking about being included in a school capital programme, the response from the Department is about these modular buildings. It was always assured that these would not mili…
I acknowledge there has been a good bit of good news for schools in County Donegal. I would not begrudge the Minister that assertion. However, she will know, having visited this school, that the conditions are not acceptable for modern education. They do not comply in any way with classroom sizes, toilet and play amenities. Special needs children are being educated in hallways. It is just not acceptable. The point is that the school understood clearly that if it went down the path of modular buildings it would not …
