The Deputy has asked his question. I call on the Taoiseach.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 312 of 313 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

The Deputy has asked his question. I call on the Taoiseach.
We will let the Taoiseach state what he wants.
Will the Deputy let the Taoiseach answer?
I call Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan.
I thank the Taoiseach. We are out of time.
Is the Bill opposed?
Since this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.
I thank Deputy O'Callaghan for persistently raising in the House what is an abhorrent business.
I would think that is a Topical Issue matter, but I call the Tánaiste.

I call Deputy Lahart who I believe is sharing with Deputy Leddin.

I thank Deputy Ó Cathasaigh very much for those words of wisdom.

Thank you, Deputy Tóibín, for mentioning your friend and colleague. I think the whole House would salute him and the work he did.
We go to the Independent Group slot, where Deputy Pringle is sharing with Deputy Connolly.
I have limitless patience. It was good to hear the Deputy. We move to Deputy Joan Collins, who was also a member of the committee.
I thank Deputy Joan Collins for that sound advice. In the spirit of where we find ourselves, running ahead of time and with flexibility, Deputy McAuliffe is here and wishes to contribute. I think we should hear from him for a minute or two.
I thank Deputy McAuliffe. Before I call Deputy Ó Cuív, and then the Minister of State to respond, I also want to make some remarks. I apologise to Senator Flynn for not being here when the debate started a little earlier than was scheduled. I also thank her, and former Senator Colette Kelleher before her, for the outstanding work they have done. The statistics published in this report cast a shadow of shame on our State and on our society. There is no escaping that reality. I have had discussions on this with Senat…
