Is that agreed? Agreed.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 191 of 191 decisive votes (0 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Sula leanaim ar aghaidh, I welcome our special guests in the Distinguished Visitors Gallery today. We have Senator Ollie Crowe’s mother, Breda Crowe, as well as his sister-in-law, Caroline Crowe. I hope they are both very proud of Senator Crowe. He has been a great mentor to me since I became a Senator. He is a gentleman. Breda and Caroline are very welcome.
Sula dtéim ar aghaidh, ba mhaith liom fáilte a chur roimh na daoine sa Ghailearaí. I think I missed the memo on bring your mam to work day today. We have Deputy Pádraig Rice with his mam, Teresa, and his aunt, Marie McCarthy, in the Gallery. They are all very welcome. Thanks for coming in today. He is the second Member to have his mother in the Gallery in the last few minutes. Glaoim ar an Seanadóir Cosgrove. An bhfuil sí ag iarraidh am a roinnt?
Earlier this week, Gaelscoil Riada and Coláiste an Eachréidh received the great news that they have been issued with a letter of intent to go to construction, which is huge news for them. Déanaim comhghairdeas leo. Tá mé an-sásta dóibh. However, this was met with dismay by other schools, such as Carrabane National School just outside Loughrea, which has been waiting a long time – over 20 years – to get to construction phase. Four months ago, the announcement was made that it was sanctioned to go to stage 3 which, i…
I welcome the winners of the National Short Story Competition to the Gallery with their parents and teachers. I see my own former workmate and friend, Eoin O'Sullivan, down there. I do not know if Deirdre is still around. Just to say hello to them all and thank them for coming up today. Go raibh míle maith agaibh.
Could we avoid the expletives if we can?
I know the Senator was quoting somebody else, but if we could just avoid it.
I understand-----
Go raibh maith agat, a Sheanadóir. An bhfuil an tAire Stáit ag iarraidh teacht isteach?
Is the Senator pressing her amendment?
Does the Minister of State want to come back in on that? We can take this at the end. It is not relevant-----
An bhfuil aon Seanadóir eile ag iarraidh teacht isteach? Níl. Glaoim ar an Aire Stáit.
Gabh mo leithscéal, a Sheanadóir-----
Gabh mo leithscéal. As it is now 4.30 p.m., I am required to put the following question in accordance with the order of the Seanad of this day-----
I am told I have to go ahead with this. I am sorry but I am following the procedures.
Yes. Apologies. I am just following what was set out.
I am required to put the following question in accordance with the order of the Seanad: "That amendment No. 7 is hereby negatived, Fourth Stage is hereby completed and the Bill is hereby received for final consideration; and the Bill is hereby passed." Is that agreed?
Just before we get the Minister of State back in, I want to welcome guests of Deputy Cormac Devlin, students from Loreto Primary School, Dalkey, who are in the Gallery. You are all very welcome. Tá fáilte romhaibh.
Trí nóiméid agus trí nóiméid.
I welcome the opportunity to speak on this motion. I want to begin by acknowledging the Sinn Féin Senators who brought it forward. I could be wrong but it is fairly clear they had closely consulted the ETB sector when they put this together. I was speaking to the head of ETB youth services in Galway during the week and it has been received very well so I commend the work they have done on the motion. At its core the motion recognises something fundamental – that youth work is not an add-on to education or community…
