I would like an update on the work that is under way by the national disability service and HSE procurement to develop a tender process and service specifications for delivery of assessments of needs from private providers to deal with the long backlog in assessments of needs. This includes more than 73,000 beneficiaries of temporary protection, BOTPs, and more than 25,000 international protection applicants currently in international protection accommodation services, IPAS, accommodation.
IPAS will continue to engage with all staff in centres that accommodate children in the international protection system to ensure they complete Children First training, have a designated liaison person assigned and adhere to the Children First legislation and guidance.
