Summary of this debate

Auto-generated

I ask the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment about the reforms to the energy market he is considering to reduce high energy costs. We acknowledge the increased energy cost pressures on businesses and households and commit to bringing forward measures to contain energy costs and, importantly, to also tackle energy poverty. I intend to meet the other smaller energy providers like Yuno and others which have not increased their energy prices this year.

The savings the energy companies are making on wholesale energy are not being passed through to customers. Approximately 33% of our electricity comes through onshore wind energy. Our wind energy is a land-take and the energy will not be ours by the time it finishes.
