What the debate was about

Auto-generated

It is almost that there are two representatives coming out of the judicial appointments commission in that there are the recommendations from the judicial appointments commission and then one of the actors within the judicial appointments commission indirectly and privately goes and gives advice to the Government in that respect. I move amendment No. 12: In page 11, between lines 6 and 7, to insert the following: “(4) The Attorney General shall not, as a member of the Commission, play a role in the selection or recommendation of persons for appointment to judicial office in the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, Circuit Court or District Court.”.

Party shown is the one each member held on 2022-10-25, frozen by a dated join — not their party today. The Oireachtas API publishes no date of birth and returns an empty gender field for every member in this period, so no age or gender breakdown is shown.
