What the debate was about

Auto-generated

We already have mechanisms for substitute consent in exceptional circumstances, but the Bill makes it easier for developers to access the process for seeking substitute consent, as all the power to initiate it will go to them. There will also be rewards for those who have failed to apply planning processes properly, in that a developer who has not applied for planning permission for a development in the proper way and consequently needs to seek substitute consent will be allowed to attach a new application for a brand new development, not only on that site, but on adjoining sites without having to go through the original process or without the adjoining sites being materially linked to the development for which the substitute consent is being sought.

Party shown is the one each member held on 2022-06-14, frozen by a dated join — not their party today. The Oireachtas API publishes no date of birth and returns an empty gender field for every member in this period, so no age or gender breakdown is shown.
