The clock was not set for me.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 1,087 of 1,098 decisive votes (3 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

The clock was not set for me.
I do not believe it was. I have to speak to what Deputy Naughten said about the blood relative amendment, which I am not able to accept.
The clock was not set. It did not go to the seven minutes.
As "blood relative" is not a legal term per se , I am not in a position to accept the amendment. What I am proposing will resolve the issues. I thank Deputy Naughten for his constructive engagement on this matter. We have been speaking about this for 18 months. I have already outlined and proposed amendments to the Bill that will extend the definition of a family successor. It will provide for additional relatives within the first-cousin umbrella to be considered eligible as family successors. This includes childre…
The fair deal scheme is not undemocratic. It assesses everyone's assets in the same way, whether it is business, land or savings. The first €36,000 is disregarded if a person is single and the first €72,000 is disregarded for a couple. The Deputy spoke about a farmer. If the farmer is married or has a common-law wife or husband, the person does not pay 7.5%; they pay 3.75% and 40% of their income. There is one piece of legislation I know inside out and that is fair deal legislation. I live and breathe it every day …
I move amendment No. 3: In page 18, line 24, to delete “first cousin, great-grandchild, great-nephew or great-niece” and substitute “great-grandchild, great-nephew, great-niece or first cousin, or a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of a first cousin,”.
I move amendment No. 5: In page 20, line 3, to delete “first cousin, great-grandchild, great-nephew or great-niece” and substitute “great-grandchild, great-nephew, great-niece or first cousin, or a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of a first cousin,”.
I move amendment No. 6: In page 20, lines 13 and 14, to delete “first cousin, great-grandchild, great-nephew or great-niece” and substitute “great-grandchild, great-nephew, great-niece or first cousin, or a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of a first cousin,”.
I move amendment No. 7: In page 20, lines 21 and 22, to delete “first cousin, great-grandchild, great-nephew or great-niece” and substitute “great-grandchild, great-nephew, great-niece or first cousin, or a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of a first cousin,”.
I move amendment No. 8: In page 22, lines 30 and 31, to delete “first cousin, great-grandchild, great-nephew or great-niece” and substitute “great-grandchild, great-nephew, great-niece or first cousin, or a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of a first cousin,”.
I move amendment No. 9: In page 24, after line 6, to insert the following: “PART 4 AMENDMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH ACT 2001 Amendment of section 48 of Mental Health Act 2001 34 . Section 48 of the Mental Health Act 2001 is amended, in subsection (6), by the substitution of “5 years” for “3 years”.”.
I thank the Deputies for supporting this Bill and my officials for their support over the past weeks and months in drafting this legislation.
I thank the Deputy for his question. As he will recall, in 2016 the then Government put in place a system to rebuild 90 CNUs the length and breadth of the country. Forty-eight of these have been completed. The one in Clonmel, which the Deputy visited with me recently, will be completed by the end of the year. On the one in Cashel, the estates section is currently considering a site. We want an appropriate site that is suitable. What I can guarantee is that there will be a new CNU in Cashel. It is in the capital pla…
I thank the Deputy very much for his question. At the start, he mentioned that this matter falls under mental health services, but it actually falls under the remit of my colleague Deputy Anne Rabbitte, the Minister of State responsible for disabilities. Obviously, there are some children with dual diagnoses who need the support of CAMHS and who might have a secondary diagnosis of autism. With regard to the mental health budget, €108 million has been spent this year alone on various grants to various organisations …
Before I start, I have to call out what the Deputy said. It is unfair to call any Minister a liar or say that he or she is telling lies. I want that on the record of the Dáil. Any Minister who comes in here in good faith to answer Topical Issue Matters is given a response which is local to the area. We have to work with the information that is given to us. I am now giving the Deputy an opportunity to withdraw the statement he made that a Minister came in here and told lies.
No, you cannot. You will have time to come back in. You can say it then.
No, he actually used the words "lie" and "liar". I heard exactly what he said. I just want to be clear-----
The Deputy is saying that, in his opinion, the information was a lie.
As the Deputy will be aware, the SouthDoc co-operative provides GP out-of-hours services. It has 23 health centres located across Cork and Kerry, including the Blackpool treatment centre in north Cork city. The issue of withdrawal or reduction of out-of-hours services at certain treatment centres has been raised several times with the HSE and SouthDoc. Multiple assurances have been received from SouthDoc that there has been no reduction in service to patients in Cork city.
In Deputy Gould's opinion, I am reading out a lie.
