On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 52 of 1,007 decisive votes (14 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Department Underspend and Reduced Delivery of Affordable Housing: Motion [Private Members]

What really frustrates me is Government has heard the stories about what its housing policies mean for ordinary families across this State. It has heard of those living in emergency accommodation with no end in sight. It has heard of how humiliating, depressing and destabilising an experience this is. It has heard of the profound lifelong impact this has on children. It has heard of the young people who are well-educated, well-qualified and in good employment who are at this minute sending their CVs across the glob…

Road Projects

I thank the Minister of State, Deputy Chambers, for his attendance and the Leas-Cheann Comhairle for her indulgence. I thank also the staff of the Houses for working so late and facilitating the debate. I hope the Minister of State will be able to allay the conclusion many have come to, namely, that the Government has a disgraceful attitude to regional transport links, not least as they pertain to the Border region. County Monaghan has incredibly limited public transport availability. There is no rail network in th…

Road Projects

The problem is that funding was taken out of the budget and taken away from projects that are included in the national development plan and allocated to projects that are not mentioned at all in that plan. We need to have clarity in this regard. The Minister's answer suggests this is all TII decision-making. However, TII told us quite clearly and has stated to a number of Dáil committees that it will be directed by the Government. However, the Minister of State should not take my word, or even the word of the elect…

Irish Sheep Sector: Statements

I am disappointed and incredibly surprised that the Minister and Minister of State have spent the guts of 20 minutes outlining that there are no new supports to be provided. When I raised this issue as a priority oral question at the beginning of March, the response stated that the Minister had directed officials in the Department to examine potential supports. So big was that as an announcement by the Minister that he gave the same information in response to the Irish Farmers' Journal the day before the questions …

The N2 road is a critical artery through the central Border region to the north west. Upgrade schemes on two sections of that road, which have been in the pipeline for many years, have effectively been stalled by the Minister, Deputy Ryan. Last year, he provided no funding at all for the Clontibret to the Border road scheme. This year, funding is dependent on matching EU grant funding. Regarding the Ardee to Castleblayney scheme, funding has essentially been stalled so no progress can be made this year. Will the Ta…
