That is right.
On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 356 of 832 decisive votes (4 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

That is right.
You did, but you had-----
You said it when you were sitting on the Opposition benches. You took exception to what I had said.
Thank you. I am making it clear that when you left the Chair and went to the Opposition benches, you told me what you thought about what I had said, which is fine because you are elected here the same as me. You are perfectly entitled to do that - absolutely, no problem - and you were right to say what you said. I am also right to say it is not normal behaviour. The funny thing about it is that I know the Minister agrees with me. It is not normal for one individual at any one time to have 20 or 25 objections rollin…
Is there interference?
Maybe it is the Russians. I will continue.
I want to make that point very clearly. Nobody in Ireland would say that it is normal for a person to object continuously. Any one individual, of course, could have an issue with a person developing something-----
-----that would affect them. My God, how could 20 or 25 people affect you, wherever you are living? That type of nonsense will have to stop. Serial objectors will have to be called out in this House and in the local authorities for what they are. Rightfully, in my opinion, I called them "cranks" and "crackpots" this morning because that is exactly who they are. Whether you are a member of An Taisce or whoever you are, if you object to 20 or 25 applications, in my opinion you are a crackpot.
I am coming back to that. I mentioned "cranks" and "crackpots" because it is a fact and I want to call them out. Coming back to the Bill before us tonight, the one worry I have is when it comes to the zoning of lands. When we see what has happened to the farmers recently - I was glad at the very beginning and in the first instance on behalf of people in Killorglin, outside of Killarney town and in other areas outside of Kenmare where they were going to be affected by taxation that was being unfairly put on them - i…
With regard to active travel, I recognise €1 million is being spent a day on cycleways and walkways. I would like to ensure that when we talk about active travel, we also mention the motor car. It is sort of essential when it comes to the majority of people going to work. With regard to the section dealing with LNG, I warmly welcome the changes that are in this. They are welcome.
It is one of the aspects of it that is welcome.
It does not go far enough.
I am sorry there is not more time.
I appreciate it.
I will make just one point on the extension of the age. Experience is very important in roles such as this, so there is nothing wrong with what is proposed. While the Minister is doing that and facilitating people with experience who want to stay on in important roles, which is most welcome, will he please give some consideration to those who have broken their bones throughout their lives farming and who want to retire by putting in place a proper scheme for them to do so and also a proper scheme to welcome in and …
In discussing this very important issue, I want to highlight something on behalf of the people of Kerry. This is the loss of the single rural cottages. It has been so long that a lot of politicians might not even remember what that was. A farmer - man or woman - would give half an acre to the local authority and the authority could build a house that would serve that family for generations. They are very difficult to get now, as are affordable homes. I am a supporter of approved housing bodies but, in places like K…
I thank Sinn Féin for bringing this very important motion before us. However, one of the biggest wastes of money is the amount of money taken off taxpayers in the form of carbon tax. We all know what Sinn Féin did with the carbon tax. It supported it and said at the time that it was not going far enough and quickly enough.
With regard to the bike shed, I remind the people that, at the moment, the Labour Party is actively seeking a second bike shed to be built. To be clear on where it wanted it, it said there was one out the back so the leader of the party made strong representations to get one built in the front. So, let everybody know the Labour Party wants a second bike shed. On the children's hospital, when we talk about waste, I want to know how a contractor was asked to do a job along with additional jobs that were required, gav…
When the Minister of State, Deputy Fleming, used the words "this Government" and "prudent" when it comes to money management, I have to think, out the road here, of the children's hospital. Nobody could use the phrases "financial prudence" and "this Government" in the same breath. When we hear of bicycle sheds and security huts costing €1.25 million and when we think that our highly esteemed and respectable Ceann Comhairle had to start off the first meeting of this Dáil term by explaining about a bike shed and how …
There is plenty of money here but no plan. I am not going to vote for this budget because I am standing up for the hospitality sector in County Kerry, the tourism capital of the western world that the Minister of State and her Government has totally abandoned here today. How in the name of God can the Government say this to the hoteliers, to the vintners, to the restaurant people and to the people who work so hard? I am talking about County Kerry because the people there have been contacting me yesterday, last week…
