On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 356 of 832 decisive votes (4 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.
This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

-----so I am not going to answer the tripe and rubbish coming out of the Deputy's mouth.
Do not heckle me and do not try to stop me speaking when I have speaking time. If the points I am making are hurting the Deputy personally, well, is that not his trouble? I am making perfect common sense to the people listening to him and to this debate. If there is a desire to adhere to the policies of the Green Party and to follow much of what it goes on with, then houses should not be built. The case being made by the Deputy and his party is that he might have a home and the people in his party might have homes,…
What is the Green Party's answer to them? It is that they have to adhere to what is in the policies going forward, but it costs money to do that and it makes homes an awful lot more expensive. That is the difficulty I have with what is contained in this Bill and that is what I want to highlight and let the people see. I want to let them understand that Government policy is driving up the cost of affordable housing and putting it totally beyond their reach and what they can achieve to afford. That is so disappointin…
We are overjoyed.
On a point of order, at this point coming onto midnight, we are leaving 585 amendments behind us. It is disgraceful at this time, although not the Ceann Comhairle's fault, for the Government to be guillotining this important Bill before the House. It is wrong and unfair on the people of Ireland.
Every one of us in this House appreciates the Irish language being promoted, appreciates the Gaeltachts and appreciates that resources continue to be invested in this regard. When it comes to planning, however, it is definitely an issue that causes consternation for planners when paperwork is demanded to be completed in both English and Irish. That is something in other fields that we appreciate and want. When it comes to planning, however, what people want is the granting of planning permission in order that they …
I will speak to section 61. Section 61(3) states: If the Office of the Planning Regulator, upon consideration of a report submitted to it under subsection (1) , is of the opinion that there is a material inconsistency for the purposes of that subsection and- (a) is satisfied that the steps proposed by the planning authority shall be sufficient to remove the material inconsistency concerned- The difficulty that I have with the Office of the Planning Regulator-----
Yes. The point I want to make is that recently we have had county council elections. More than 940 excellent people from all parties and none have been elected to their local authorities. These people are the eyes and ears on the ground. They are the people who work so hard in formulating county development plans. They put so much time and effort into them. They know their local areas. They are really in tune with their constituents and the needs of the local towns and villages. They know what the people require.
Sorry.
Sorry, yes it is section 61. I am talking about the regulator. Maybe the reason I jumped to the regulator is because it is so important.
Will I refrain until we get there?
I will hold the guns until we get to it but I have plenty to say about the regulator.
The Minister is an expert in it.
I thank the Leas-Cheann Comhairle. I am looking at the amendment worded as follows: "transport infrastructure" is infrastructure for cyclists, pedestrians, public transport and road traffic. Back in the day, that would have been worded as road traffic, public transport, pedestrians and cyclists. I have nothing in the world against the cyclists. I am very glad of the money that is being spent on cycleways and walkways. It is an addition for our locals and tourists and will be good for the economy, but this is a case…
-----the results are there. It was probably one of the most unusual departures for any leader of a political group-----
----at their ard-fheis to go talking about one particular family. Like I said, he came to Kerry and he left as quickly. I just wanted to make the point about the way it is worded.
I am not going to knock him off his bike at all.
The Deputy is well able to shout.
You can take it any way you like.
I take it as I read it.
